FORUM GUIDELINES

Postby Rick on Tue Dec 07, 2004 8:13 am

Welcome to the Guidelines.
Our Guidelines are "Not Your" ("Na-Cho") Boring User Guidelines.
Most people consider Guidelines to be used on highways and roads, (except some drivers don't use 'em),
However, these others have to be written and noted for this forum.
So sit back, say, " more cheese please", and take a couple of Rolaids.

A.) FOUR FREEDOMS:
#1.) The FREEDOM to post your Opinions & Procreate.
#2.) The FREEDOM to open a Discussion & Debate.
#3.) The FREEDOM to post Promotions, Ads & Schools.
#4.) The FREEDOM to Troll, Poll, & Have Fun Acting Like Fools.

#1.) The FREEDOM to post your Opinions & Procreate. Every member has the freedom and/or right to post their opinions and procreate this forum (invite & share it). Opinions are the formulated beliefs of an individual, which none are fully wrongful nor fully righteous. In other words, each member is entitled to his or her opinion. And there is a humorous analogy of opinions. However, as a member post an opinion, and it is debated, both parties (members) should include reference data, links, books, media, and other sources. This will make the discussion more interesting and informative for all whom desire to read it. Any member can reference this forum.

#2.) The FREEDOM to open a Discussion & Debate. Every member has the freedom/right to start a discussion/topic (a.k.a.-"thread"). The starting of a discussion/thread could be as simple as a one line question and/or statement. It could be a detailed short writing. In other words, every member has the freedom/right to start their discussion (or reply post), as brief or as detailed as they desire. Debating: It is recommended that debates remain in confines of rationalization and not blatant bashing. As stated; reference data, links, books, media, and other sources should be included. Slight humor, per name-calling or slander is allowed, but ONLY if both parties agree to it and it does not get out of control. Also, follow the Vulgar Behavior Guideline.

#3.) The FREEDOM to post Promotions, Ads & Schools. This forum allows Promotions. If any member has a martial art event, item, or general endorsement of a subject or product, it is allowed in the proper category. This forum allows Ads, the same as Promotions, and can be non-martial art, per proper category and must be authorized by a forum administrator. Being this is a martial art forum, any member is allowed to post a link(s) to their own school or other schools. The only STIPULATION to this 3rd Freedom is that we would like a member to have posted at least 6-8 posts of regular content before posting a Promotion or Ad, (except School). In addition to this, posting reference links per a response to a request is allowed. EX: A member may ask where can they get a unique pair of nunchakus. In reply, another can post info with or without further wording such as "Ivory handle-gold chained nunchakus" at Big Daddy's Five-Finger Discount Delivery, Blake's House of Bling Bling, or a link- http://www.shineyuselesscrap.com. (Ok, these are where the #4 Freedom section - Have Fun Acting Like Fools may come in use - funny how many of you may actually try to locate these).

#4.) The FREEDOM to Troll, Poll, & Have Fun Acting Like Fools. Trolls(ing) could be considered as person who makes posts that are solely intended to provoke responses from others, or to cause annoyance or offense. Although we invite Trolling if it has a purpose of good posting, discussion, or conversation. Many posts may inadvertently cause strife resulting from posting an opinion that results in much controversy, but such controversary is not always bad. Polls-this forum has the belief to put a subject to a "vote". Per a poll, in order to have a fair understanding and conclusion. Polls help the forum maintain that fairness. Polls can also be an open examination, viewpoint, or general consensus. Have fun acting like fools-not an intended offense or insult. Members are encouraged to have fun and act/behave fool hardy, or jestering. As long as it does not have extreme insult.

B.) PRIVATE MESSAGES: Not a PRIVATE, like a rank in the armed forces. Any member can Private Message (PM) another member. However, both members have to consent to PM sent and received. Private messaging can be used as an email communication, but a separate "chat room" should be used. All members are to report PM's that may not be to their liking.

C.) VULGAR BEHAVIOR: We don't mean VULCAN behavior. Well maybe, if one maintains a "logical" behavior. Vulgarity, or profanity is not allowed, except in the sense of abbreviations. Thus, they also cannot be the forced intent of offense with malice. If such should disturb any member, they should simply post it towards the member who had posted the offense. A formal apology is due whenever such offense is deemed too harsh or vulgar. Extremely harsh, abusive, vulgar, or irreverent language should not be used.

D.) RIGHTS:
No "Miranda Rights", except the "right-to-remain silent" and "any thing you say can be used against you"-just kidding. The Admins have reserved rights, and each member has specific rights as outlined in the Four Freedoms. However, if any member feels threatened, harassed, bashed, and that certain rights or other situations should be addressed, please contact an Admin. Sorry, embarrassment does not count.

E.) DEMOCRACY: The forum will open and invite all suggestions, opinions, and criticism, to an extent. Voting (per polls) will be opened for members to participate in anything, including some forum administration, such as a general consensus on certain actions to be made or taken.

THE BOTTOM LINE: …(really it is)
It is the desire of this forum to be forthright and equal to all members. Members are the reason for its existence.

Spammers

Postby clyon on Mon May 15, 2006 4:51 pm

Due to the recent flood of spammer account request I have to wade through I unfortunately have to make the following rule. All Web Sites linked to member profiles or posted anywhere on the forum must be Martial Arts oriented unless authorized by one of the forum admins. (Rick or CLyon). Any new membership request who don't follow the Guidelines will be deleted instantly but may resubmit their request if they meet the guidelines. Sorry Folks.

New rule

Postby clyon on Sun Apr 22, 2007 1:41 am

Since we have had an onslaught of new members but "0" post from these new members I am forced to make this new rule. Once your membership has been approved you will be given 2 weeks to make a post. An introduction and your interest in the Martial Arts. This is a Martial Arts forum not only for Martial Artist but for those interested in the Martial Arts. No others will be tolerated if your goal is to promote your non-Martial Arts Web Site. Spammers will be deleted and banned instantly.
